Reflections ...

On how I survived the weekend god knows, coming from a very taxing week of sleepless nites, paper work and all that... The weekend was no better… anyway, Thursday night I played at the Children of Asazi gig hosted by Mac Manaka. This is one of the dope poetry sessions I’ve witnessed in a very long time… I swear. All the guys who performed did a very good job… some of the guys it was the first time I see them do their thing (and just this one poet I think his overrated)… I must say big up to Flo for who held it down as the Master of Ceremony, he did a poem with all the guys that came got on stage… with killer jokes in between…

The next day I was playing at the Woods with DJ Bob and Blunted Stuntmen. The gigs was nice could have been nicer if it was promoted early other than that it was nice to see some familiar faces coming through and sure you guys had fun… and Saturday it was the Evo Lokxion All-Stars gig, for the mere fact that the gig was at night it was always going to be a mission for some peeps… but all those who made it through big ups to all of you (and to PHUTI the less said about other things the better)

Evo lokxion as always…

On the 2 November, it was our 17th edition of the East Rand based movement(EvO LokxiOn) with Mawe-2 set to perform live. The day began on a very slow and shaky mood from my side as I thought it could rain at any time… yet it was windy in which eventually subsided later on…but as always the atmosphere for evo experience was set…Before we could even set up the sound some had already taken their spots… Rose, Nkosana & crew came out early...!!
Our Backyard Selecta kick started the session with some of old school classics building up to that disco vibes. To follow was dR mtunga mero, making his return after long absence at the evo sessions with some of thatdope music as always. By then the massive had gathered in numbers… considering this was our first edition back to Vosloorus after our last session in SowetO... I must say it was nice to see the regulars and new faces can't mention names (and I’m upset with you Talitha! mmmh) but none the less it was a good feeling to be up and running again, Blunted Stuntman made his presence felt playing a wicked set that got peeps dancing like mad (Kwanele, would know! …lol) the only disappointment was the non arrival of Kid FonQue, who had to attend his girlfriend’s birthday thing and Mawe-2 could not play due to some reason I still couldn’t not figure…even thou he was present. So that meant anytime soon after Blunted Stuntman killer set i have to jump in… and by the time I got in, already the yard was packed with peeps chanting, screaming… with my set the less said the better…. All in all it was a dope day @ evo… and a job well done to current organizing team and mostly definitely we want more, But you guys must know Mawe-2 Owes us one!
